A moving black and white photo essay from Bogor City Square, capturing the honest
In the heart of the city’s rush, a peculiar silence prevails. These frames capture a collective retreat from reality, where every commuter is anchored to their screen. We share the same physical space, yet we inhabit entirely different digital worlds.
– The Observation –
Each person is a silent traveler, lost in a glow that outshines the flickering train lights. It is a modern ritual of isolation amidst the crowd, often referred to as the phenomenon of Phubbing, where the rhythmic sound of the tracks is ignored for an endless scroll. We are physically present, but mentally elsewhere.
– The Reflection –
As the train reaches its final destination, the screens dim for a moment before the cycle repeats. These images serve as a quiet reminder of how much we miss when our eyes are locked on the glass. In the end, we are all just strangers connected by a signal, yet separated by the very devices in our hands.
